Straight out of the Bloodstone Marches (with the sand on their bases to prove it) comes this sun-bleached Protectorate of Menoth army. These models started black so that shadow and recesses could be retained, then the majority of the surfaces started at a light brown or bone tone and were highlighted up to white. This technique provides depth and something of a sense of weathing to the models. Metalwork is left as a shiny gold to enforce this look rather than inking these areas or otherwise darkening them.

These models were painted in 2006(?).
